报告摘要:Synthetic biologists have engineered microbes to produce a wide range of biomaterials and biofuels, which are usually derived from major metabolites of the central metabolic pathways inside cells. We recently identified a new branch of TCA cycle, which enables metabolic engineering strategies to improve yields of poly-3-HB and poly-3-HB-co-4-HB in cyanobacteria. In addition, understanding and harnessing the capability to built regulatory networks and control gene expression levels under different growth conditions will offer potential solutions to both biotechnological and biomedical challenges. To this end, we engineered a non-toxic variant of dCas9 and explored its application in genetic circuit construction and synthetic biology.
